Inspiration

On this page, we give a glimpse at what is possible using our ingredients. We wanted to include some of the dairy and meat classics and highlight where the umami traditionally comes from. Often the umami comes from animal sources, which can be prevented using our ingredient.

Plant based burger patties

When talking about alternative proteins, the all-time classic is the burger. The primary ingredient in most burger patties is meat, typically beef. Beef is known for its inherent umami flavor, which intensifies during the cooking process.

Plant based burgers often lack this flavour. If you want to have an umami rich burger you can also use plant-based protein and add our ingredient. As the patty is seared or grilled, the Maillard reaction occurs, creating a rich brown crust that enhances the umami taste.

Tacos with UmamiFix marinated TVP chunks and coleslaw

Tacos often feature various meat fillings, such as beef, pork, chicken, or fish. When cooked and seasoned well, these meats develop rich umami flavors. Vegan alternatives rarely live up to that. Until now! Our UmamiFix marinated texturized vegetable protein (TVP) boasts a perfect balance of umami richness and satisfying texture. The accompanying coleslaw adds a refreshing crunch and vibrant colors to each bite.

Vegan Ranch dressing

Traditional ranch dressing often contains buttermilk, sour cream, or mayonnaise. It tastes great but it not the best for the climate! With our ingredients you can create this vegan, creamy and tangy dressing that adds a burst of flavor to any dish!

Ramen with shiitake, noodles, daikon, and bok choy

Ramen is the umami classic from Japan. Traditional ramen broth, known for its rich and complex flavors, often includes meat-based components to achieve its characteristic umami profile. We wanted to go vegan and just had to give it a try. Our UmamiFix-infused broth forms the soul of this dish, providing a robust and deeply satisfying flavor profile.

Fried gnocchi with UmamiFix, butter and sage

This Italian dish is one of our favourites. Sprinkling it with a hard cheese usually boosts the taste. Adding UmamiFix to the dish removes the need for a cheese. It adds a unique twist to the traditional dish and elevates the taste.

Vegan Cacio e pepe

Cacio e Pepe is a classic Italian pasta dish that showcases the art of simplicity and balance. Pecorino Romano, a sharp and salty sheep's milk cheese, is a cornerstone of Cacio e Pepe. This cheese is aged and develops complex flavors, including a rich umami profile. We have replaced it with UmamiFix and achieved the same effect. It does not only add a delightful savory note but also contributes a creaminess to the dish.

UmamiFix glazed and fried Zittauer onions

Even something as basic as onions can become a symphony of sweet and savory flavors, enhanced by a delightful umami kick. By infusing the onions with our ingredient and frying them, we have created an amazing dish, which also pairs great with the vegan ranch dressing.

Plant-based lasagna with TVP chunks sauce

Lasagna often incorporates flavorful fillings like ground meat, such as beef or sausage, or vegetarian alternatives like sautéed mushrooms. The browning of meat or the caramelization of vegetables during cooking enhances the umami taste. By using our ingredient, you can become more creative with the filling and still create the intense umami sensation of the original recipe.

Crispy Dosa with spring onions, green chilli and cumin

This traditional Indian crepe has been reinvented with a touch of umami magic. By adding UmamiFix to the batter, you can enhance the overall taste profile of the dosa. You can even go one step further and improve the umami profile of the accompanying chutneys and fillings.

UmamiFix cinnamon roll

We could not stop ourselves and just had to try out making a dessert. These cinnamon rolls with an umami kick are a special treat. This pastry is the perfect marriage of sweet and savory, where the delicate flavors of cinnamon and sugar are elevated by the umami undertones provided by our ingredient.
